Yes, Where do I start? The collection of Quran is very unique. Before the Quran, If anything was to be preserved it was written down in the shape of a book and people from different cultures would learn the language, translate it and make a version of it in their own language, that was the mode of transmission and across cultures. With new cultures , the language doesn’t stays the same let alone the text.

Blockchain how?

Quran is Unique in the order in which it was compiled. Let’s relate this to the block chain. A verse is revealed(Block), a group of people memorize it(Added to the Blockchain). The blockchain keeps on moving with new blocks. It is checked with one another, If there is a conflict, it is easily resolved because it is cross checked with other Blockchains. and in the Quran, we see a similar pattern. The verses were memorized by multiple people (Nodes in the Blockchain) and cross-checked during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This ensured accuracy and authenticity, akin to consensus mechanisms in blockchain technology.

Moreover, just as a blockchain is immutable once a block is added, the Quran’s compilation was done meticulously during the time of Caliph Uthman (RA), ensuring a standardized text that has remained unchanged for centuries. This parallel highlights the importance of integrity and reliability in both systems.

Integrity of the block chain

In the Quran, we observe a remarkable phenomenon that can be taken as a claim of data integrity through numerical patterns. For instance, certain words and phrases appear in the text with matching counts. There are some notable examples which include:

  • The word “duniya” (the present world) and “akhira” (the hereafter) both appear exactly 115 times.
  • The words “malaika” (angels) and “shayateen” (devils) are both mentioned 88 times.
  • The words “al-hayat” (life) and “al-mawt” (death) each occur 145 times.
  • The word month(Shahar) mentioned 12 times.

There are many more word pairs like the ones mentioned, but I have not included them in the list. During my research, I encountered several “debunking” videos. These videos often criticized the approach by alleging discrepancies in word counts or by suggesting that additional words were introduced to fit the narrative, most common examples considering singular and plural forms as not the same word leading to mismatch of counts etc.

Another fascinating aspect is the decentralized nature of Quranic learning. Just as nodes in a blockchain network hold a copy of the ledger, Quranic knowledge was spread across various companions of the Prophet (PBUH), ensuring redundancy and resilience against loss or corruption.

In conclusion, viewing the Quran through the lens of blockchain not only sheds light on its unique preservation but also underscores the timeless wisdom embedded within its verses. As we continue to explore innovative technologies like blockchain, we can find inspiration in timeless paradigms that have stood the test of time.
